The Adelante Africa Secondary School has come first in the ranking of the secondary schools in Kakumiro District for the fifth year. Moreover we are ranked 158th out of the 2,000 best schools in Uganda.
This is a really good result, considering that the school is in a poor rural area in the Western region of the country and that around 20 students a year are very vulnerable, supported by sponsors in Spain or the UK.
On Monday 16th February the school held a leaving celebration for the children with the Mayor of Igayaza as the chief guest.
He ended his speech saying.... The school is really living up to it's motto "Education changes Lives!"

La Escuela Secundaria Adelante África ha ocupado el primer lugar en el ranking de escuelas secundarias del distrito de Kakumiro por quinto año consecutivo. Además, ocupamos el puesto 158 entre las 2,000 mejores escuelas de Uganda.
Este es un resultado excelente, considerando que la escuela se encuentra en una zona rural pobre del oeste del país y que alrededor de 20 estudiantes al año son muy vulnerables, apoyados por patrocinadores en España o el Reino Unido
El lunes 16 de febrero, la escuela celebró una fiesta de despedida para los niños que terminan este año, con el alcalde de Igayaza como invitado principal.
Finalizó su discurso diciendo... La escuela realmente está haciendo honor a su lema: "¡La educación cambia vidas!".
