Adelante Africa ran a manicure and pedicure course in for 14 girls in Igayaza this summer.
Two 2 professionals came from Kampala and taught them for 5 days.
Many of the girls on the course had previously done the Adelante Africa hairdressing course but we did allow a few saloon owners on the course with the understanding they would give employment to at least one of the girls at the end of the course.
Adelante Africa gave each girl a kit with all the equipment they needed to start working as soon as the course ended and most of the girls are now in employment as manicurists.
The girls were encouraged by the District Community Development Officer to form an association and to register this at the District. He promised that his office would help them to buy the products they need.
Their association is called "The Adelante Africa Glow and Grow Entrepreneurs" :).

Adelante África organizó este verano un curso de manicura y pedicura para 14 chicas en Igayaza.
Dos profesionales vinieron de Kampala y les enseñaron durante 5 días.
Muchas de las chicas que participaron en el curso ya habían hecho el curso de peluquería de Adelante África, pero permitimos que algunas propietarias de salones participaran en el curso con la condición de que dieran empleo al menos a una de las chicas al final del curso.
Adelante África dio a cada chica un kit con todo el equipo que necesitaban para empezar a trabajar en cuanto terminó el curso y la mayoría de las chicas tienen ahora un empleo como manicuristas.
El responsable de desarrollo comunitario del distrito animó a las chicas a formar una asociación y a registrarla en el distrito. Les prometió que su oficina les ayudaría a comprar los productos que necesitaran.
Su asociación se llama «Adelante Africa Glow and Grow Entrepreneurs» :).
