The dining hall of Adelante Africa Secondary School is now complete. It even has basins outside for the children to wash their hands before eating which are supplied with water from a water tank that harvests water from the roof.
The children eat here but they also use the hall for acting out plays, for doing homework and exams and for the chess club.
It has made a great difference to the children who, up until now, have eaten off their laps sitting on the steps to the dormitories or classrooms. Now they can sit comfortably together at tables and converse as they eat.
El comedor del colegio de secundaria de Adelante África ya está terminado. Incluso tiene lavabos en el exterior para que los niños se laven las manos antes de comer. Estos se abastecen con agua de un tanque que recoge el agua del techo.
Los niños comen aquí, pero también utilizan el comedor para representar obras de teatro, hacer deberes y exámenes y para el club de ajedrez.
Esto ha supuesto una gran diferencia para los niños que, hasta ahora, comían sentados en las escaleras de los dormitorios o las aulas. Ahora pueden sentarse cómodamente juntos en las mesas y conversar mientras comen..
