March:

Some good news this week, as the Senior 3 students have returned to the Adelante África Secondary School.

Here you can see some photos of the sponsored Senior 3 students. The Ugandan government has recently stated that they want all children to go back to school, so we're hoping for a staggered return for the S1 and S2 classes soon. 

Marzo:

¡Buenas noticias esta semana! Los estudiantes de la clase Senior 3 han vuelto a la Escuela Secundaria Adelante África.

Aquí podéis ver algunas fotos de los niños apadrinados de Senior 3. El gobierno de Uganda ha indicado que quiere que todos los niños vuelvan al colegio, así que esperamos que la vuelta de las clases S1 y S2, que va a ser escalonada, suceda pronto.

The government’s aim seems to be to get the S3s to complete the school year by the end of July. They would then start Senior 4 in August. It’s great news that they’re back, because on top of getting an education it means we know their medical and nutritional needs are being met.

It also means that they are as safe as can be considering the circumstances. We’re hoping that despite all the disruption they will settle in and catch up. 

Meanwhile, Senior 4 children are hard at work with their exams. We're wishing all our students the best of luck! 

Parece que el objetivo actual del gobierno es que la clase S3 complete el año escolar a finales de julio. Empezarían pues el nuevo curso a principio de agosto. La vuelta al colegio de esta clase es una gran noticia, ya que además de seguir con su educación significa que sabemos que estamos cubriendo sus necesidades médicas y alimentarias y que están lo más a salvo posible dadas las circunstancias. 

Esperamos que a pesar de la larga interrupción se pongan al día pronto y se aclimaten de nuevo a la vida en la escuela. Mientras tanto, los niños de Senior 4 siguen esforzándose con sus exámenes. ¡Les deseamos a todos mucha suerte!
